This October, we’re stepping up to spark conversations, inspire action, and get hands-on about building a more sustainable future.
Cinch is proud to be part of International E-waste Day 2025, hosted by ALBA — happening on Sunday, 12 October at Bedok Town Square from 11:30am to 5:00pm.
This annual event brings together students, families, professionals, and sustainability advocates to explore how we can all play a role in reducing e-waste and creating a cleaner, greener world.
What to Expect at International E-waste Day 2025
Visitors can look forward to a full day of activities, including:
Interactive booths showcasing cutting-edge recycling technologies
Inspiring talks by changemakers in the circular economy space
Workshops and games that make learning about e-waste recycling fun and practical
It’s a chance to see how collective action and small steps can add up to meaningful impact.
Our Sponsored Workshop: Upcycling Bags for Bulky E-waste
As part of our commitment to driving sustainable innovation, we’re excited to sponsor a hands-on workshop at 2:00pm — and we’d love for you to join us.
“Upcycling Bags for Bulky E-waste” will teach participants how to transform discarded materials like woven rice bags into sturdy, reusable bags designed to collect and carry bulky e-waste such as old printers and monitors.
You’ll explore simple sewing and assembly techniques, sustainable design principles, and walk away with a bag that’s not only durable but also environmentally conscious.
How this Relates to our Sustainability Mission
At Cinch, our mission has always been to redefine access to technology — making it smarter, more flexible, and more sustainable — and supporting International E-waste Day 2025 is our way of extending that mindset beyond devices to the entire technology lifecycle.
Traditional ownership models lock people and businesses into high upfront costs and short device lifespans, driving both e-waste and carbon emissions; only 17.4% of global e-waste is formally recycled, while Scope 3 emissions from IT hardware can make up as much as 70% of a company’s total carbon footprint.
Our circular Device-as-a-Service model is designed to break that cycle, anchored on three core impact pillars:
1. Enabling financial inclusion by removing cost barriers.
2. Avoiding emissions by extending device lifespans and maximising usage.
3. Reducing e-waste to landfill by recirculating devices and recovering materials.
All of which contribute to our broader sustainability goals. You can explore these insights in more depth in our latest sustainability whitepaper, and see how we’re turning our mission into measurable impact.
